If you're a Tampa local chances are you're familiar with 97x, but for those of you who aren't - 97x is Tampa's hit alternative radio station. This time of year is an exciting one for the station and alternative fans of all ages for one reason: the station's highly anticipated two day music festival - 97x Next Big Thing.
Let me tell you, it lives up to its name for sure.
The eighteenth annual 97x Next Big thing was headlined by Panic! At the Disco (Sunday), Bastille (Saturday) alongside acts including: Foster the People, LANY, AJR, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Young the Giant, CHVRCHES and more! Every single act on this lineup made themselves known loud and clear.
The energy at the Midflorida Credit Union Amphitheatre the entire weekend was truly something special and reciprocated by everyone; it wasn't just because of the giant inflatable duck that carried Andrew of Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness during his set, AJR's crowd surfing or Brendon Urie's awe-striking vocals. The acts, the fans, the staff, Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Overall, it was a great time and I couldn't resist but to capture these moments and the energy all around even if it was just on my phone, so naturally, I created a RECAP video.
